When it comes to toys, the mini kitchen in our playroom has always been a favorite! I love seeing the kids use their imaginations and have fun pretending. We filled our mini kitchen with nontoxic wooden toys, lightweight stainless steel pots and pans, and cute groceries made of knit or cotton fabric. Companies like Plan Toys, Melissa & Doug and sites like The Tot make wooden toys using nontoxic, kid-friendly paint so they are safe for kids pretending to eat!
Pottery Barn Kids has really cute and modern kitchens and little accessories like a stand mixer, blender and espresso machine.
We mounted and a simple lucite shelf to our chalkboard wall to serve as a spice rack. These shelves also work great for books in the kids' rooms.
We styled the setup so it feels like our actual kitchen, with little striped dish towels, miniature baskets like we have in our actual pantry and stainless steel accessories.
